Testing and Quarantine Guidelines for Arriving Travelers in the Philippines
In this time of pandemic, it’s important that we all do our part to flatten the curve. To aid in lowering the numbers, the Philippines has put up new rules and guidelines to make traveling to the country a safer experience for both travelers and locals.
Upon arrival, all passengers will undergo a swab test (RT PCR Covid-19 testing) performed by trained personnel from the Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ).
Passengers must stay in a government-designated quarantine facility or in a BOQ-approved quarantine hotel while awaiting the results of said test.
Payment for being accommodated in a government-designated quarantine facility will be based on the following guidelines:
The cost shall be shouldered by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration for all land-based OFWs
The cost shall be shouldered by the Maritime Industry Authority or by the local manning agency for all sea-based OFWs
For other non-OFW travelers (Filipino or foreign nationals), they may choose from among the approved quarantine facilities and hotels and pay for the cost of their accommodation themselves.
Travelers whose test results are positive will be transferred to a designated hospital for further medical management.
Travelers whose test results are negative will be allowed to move out and undergo a 14-day quarantine at home or any appropriate local monitoring facility.
The above guidelines are in effect until further notice from the Philippine Government. For more information, you may contact the government's One Stop Shop hotline number at +63 9161019964.
The new procedures are there to help protect the health and safety of all, from the locals to the passengers incoming. With your help, we can help lower Covid-19 cases and help bring the world closer to the goal of further lowering the curve and helping make the world a safer place.
Due to these circumstances, Mango Tours highly recommends delaying your Philippine travel until such a time the quarantine may not be in effect, unless travel is absolutely necessary. Click here to view our promo fares with FREE REBOOKING*
